Through its dedicated fundraising efforts, the Purple & Gold Club serves as a valuable resource for special athletic needs, including travel expenses for out-of-state tournaments, training equipment, facility improvements, uniforms, awards, and other items to enhance the men's and women's athletic programs. Annual contributions help support all 22 intercollegiate athletic teams, involving nearly one-third of the students at Whittier.
Latest update: For the second year in a row the Whittier College Athletic Department, which has 403 student-athletes boasted a cumulative GPA of over a 3.00 (3.36) with the women's teams combining for a 3.46 and the men with a 3.26.
"I am extremely proud of the student-athletes in our program who have fought through challenges that have never been faced before. Their dedication and commitment in the classroom mirrors the efforts we are used to seeing on the field, courts and pool," explained Executive Director of Athletics Rock Carter ’89.
"These teams and programs truly reflect the overall values of NCAA Division III, and help define the true purpose of being a Whittier College student-athlete."
