Explore the new and exciting parts of the Poet campus and reminisce in places that still feel so familiar. Join this guided walking tour with Student Ambassadors from the Office of Admission.

11-11:50AM | Poet for a Day, Master Class | Science and Learning Center

Taught by Biology and Environmental Science Prof. Cinzia Fissore, this course brings the voices of key actors in the coffee industry, including non-profits and educators, to explain the complexities of the coffee supply chain.   The class will include a special industry guest with coffee tasting and option to stay for the hands-on lab experience in our very own Whittier College coffee orchard.

Enjoy a showcase of outstanding student, faculty and Alumni talent, presented by the Department of Music. Choir alumni are invited to perform the alma mater and school song Friends Forever along with students.

2-4PM | Professor McBride's Last Lecture | Hoover 100

Whittier legend Professor of Political Science Mike McBride is retiring at the end of this academic year. But there is still opportunity for alumni to learn from Professor McBride, who is a specialist in Soviet and Russian history and politics, human rights, and the United Nations. At this event, he will discuss how he got to Whittier, why he stayed, and what he hopes to leave behind as lessons learned and advice for the future, drawing on the words of Russian dissident Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, United Nations officials, and John Greenleaf Whittier.


5PM | Celebrate the Installation of Whittier College's 16th President with the Poet Community | Shannon Center and Patio

The Poet community gathers to celebrate the formal installation of Kristine E. Dillon '73, Ph.D. as the 16th President of Whittier College. The ceremony will feature an academic processional, tributes to Whittier's mission, and remarks by the new President on the College's vibrant future. All members of the Whittier community are encouraged to participate in this special occasion, which will be followed by a brief, festive reception.
